Google Drive sync creating duplicate folders

Alex 6 aastat tagasi uuendaja Kevin Boey 4 aastat tagasi 24

The app creates duplicate Android/Fuelio folders when it backs itself up.

I have the same issue.

Is there a plan to solve this?

Investigating this. You can safety remove these folder, create new backup manually and structure should be fine.

I'm checking where I did some bug.

Fixed

This should be fixed in 7.6. You can try it from beta channel. Remove duplikcates. Do backup and starting from 7.6 this shoudn't happen again

Currently with version 7.7.6 and the problem persists...
Please help.
Thank you very much

i have the Same Problem with 7.7.6.

Coud you give me full path - how to reproduce it?

We are unable to do it. We are trying for a long time.

Not sure if this is random Google Drive API bug or we miss something.

If you remember -did you uninstall app and install again, which option you are using when this is happening? Sync? I mean full backup, manual backup.

I did the following steps:

- deleting all folders in Google Drive

- clearing the cache and all data in fuelio app

- importing exported CSV

- then I did a "send to google drive" which results in four "Android" folders in Google drive and two csv files with the same name in folder "sync" - see screenshot:

I did not uninstall the app - just deleted app data.

If I instead export the data ("EXPORTIEREN" in the bottom area) the bug doesn't happen (--> only one Android folder is created and the CSV is exported to "backup-csv"-folder)

Thanks! Checking this. Didn't try clearing cache and data, but this should be the same as uninstall/install

Maybe I'll see something using this way. Thank you very much, I need to catch this. I don't think this bug is massive, I just need to find out what's the trigger here.

I can also send you my csv-file

Hanna, you're the best!
Now we've finally found something. I was able to reproduce it!

Now I need some time for debug, but finally, I'm really happy about it.

Great! Could you also look for the following bug: Automatically syncing after adding a new fuel entry works. But if I delete a fuel entry, the app doesn't sync with google drive.

Hi,

actually I have same problem with duplicate folder on my Google Drive. duplicate folder are created repeatly in the root foleder, create fulder: Android, backupt-csv, Fuelio, Pictures, routes, Sync. I'm using Fuelio v. 7.6.15 actually.

Hi, i have the same issue. More badly: the backups seem to be mixed up, on my phone are not all tank stops :/

Any idea? There are now 9 fuelio folders, 12 picture folders, 22 routes folders and 11 sync foders :'(

This bug still exists. Actually it is even worse by me. I have 3 Fuelio folders in Drive, created in 2018 2019 2020. And the app writes to all! In one I found route from 7.10.2020, in other route from 23.10.2020! I can not delete any if they are being used randomly? What to do?

What happened if you delete all these folders?

And then when you do full backup.

New directory should be created.

Do you use any other apps using Drive API. In Fuelio we use only strict access to files/folder. We can't read files that were saved by you, modified by you etc. Only files created by the app. If any other app got access and it's touching files somehow -we don't see it and Fuelio is creating new directory.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your answers.

I deleted all folders (4 named Android/Fuelio...) and then I forced backup and only 2 folder appeared..

2 folders?
YOu mean one /Android/ and two folders inside.

Please, try to sign out and sign in in Fuelio to Drive. Just to make sure to regenerate and clear cache for tokens.

Oh sorry for not being clear...

After the delete/force backup the result as the expected one, but only at the second attempt.
At the first attempt, 2 files with the same name "vehicle-1-sync.csv" appeared on /Android/Fuelio/sync

On the second attempt and a third one (with changes on data just to ensure data was changed), everything appears to be correct.

Thank you very much once again. Also for providing this application.

Kind regards,

Carlos

The following creates only one instead of four Android folders in Google Drive:

- deleting all folders in Google Drive

- clearing cache and data in fuelio app

- importing CSV

and then first do this: exporting the CSV (folder backup-csv)

automatically syncing after adding a new fuel entry also works except if I delete a fuel entry. Then the app doesn't sync with google drive.

Update on this thread. Google Drive API stuff was rewritten in Fuelio 7.7.7 beta 17 (if you are in beta channel update will be here later today).

Issues should be resolved. I'm using different way to check if directory structure is created. Less requests to Drive API etc.

This will be of course part of stable 7.7.7 release.

Hey Adrian, it's broken again. App now writes to new folders (Android, Routes and Fuelio) whenever I add an entry.

After pushing 7.7.7 I got zero reports about it. Also we rewritten that stuff and the only way it is still shwoing like that is to having on some device older verison. Check if you have other devices.

Right now folders are create only when connecting to Drive. So it's not possible to create duplicate when using the app after approving the app.

Do one thing. Make sure you are using 7.7.7, clear all dir, log out from Drive, then sign in again - do full backup (manually) and see if dir are created once again. It should be working.

Also remember. If any other app got access to these folders, doing something - they are revoking access from Fuelio. We can read only files saved by the app. We don't have access to your Drive.

I was already on 7.7.7, but glad to report that disconnecting and reconnecting Google drive as your instructions did the trick. I was waiting to test it out over a couple of fill ups (the pandemic isn't making it easier) but glad to report that this bug is gone. Been a user since the days of buying unlock key apps and this has only been the only QOL issue I've ever faced. Thanks, Adrian!
