How Do I Import CSV Into Fuelio ?

Steven Hollenbeck 12 years ago updated by Adrian 7 years ago 15
I've recently switched from Palm to Android, and have a couple years of fuel data on my Palm that I've exported to a CSV file. How do I get this file into Fuelio on my new Android phone ? I put the file on the phone itself, but Fuelio doesn't see it.

Try to go to http://fuel.io/faq - there is sample file for Fuelio.

You should change your CSV file in Excel/Libre Office to Fuelio's format.

Then you can use import option.

To import CVS file in Fuelio use: Settings > Imporyt CSV. But the file should be in Fuelio format.
But probably you want to import data from other app. This should be converted first to Fuelio format.

If you can wait few days, you can send me your csv from Palm and I will take a look at it. If the data will be OK - I'll convert it to Fuelio format.

hi there how do i get the fuelio format i have a csv file that i want to convert had used car logger

Another similar case.
I export CSV file from Fuelio and i used it as model for add other data.
After successfully import however i not see its in the history.

Bye.
PS: compliments for app! :)

I resolve my issue. :D
I can see data import as new car (one new car for every import try).

Bye.
You can send me your csv file. I'll take a look at your data. Probably there is something wrong with some column.

Also, I'll need to know if there is a certain folder on my Android, where I need to put the CSV file. My phone doesn't have an SD card slot. All memory is internal (16 GB).

I would be more than happy to pay for this app, if it works for me. The apps I had on my Palm Pre were really nice.

I insert some data for example and i export CSV file.
Fuelio has created a directory and put into the file (in my  case into sd card).
For manage the file with pc, i use dropbox.
I hint you to try do as.

I hope help you.
Bye.
PS: excuse for my poor english. :(
Yes. I've got also phone without SD slot but Android has something like SDCARD folder. After export try to find Fuelio directory there.

/sdcard/Fuelio/
And there should be /sdcard/Fuelio/backup-csv

What do red & green entries mean?

I have a problem as follows:

- I have a vehicle in which I have data for 2012 to 2015, I didn't enter for 2016, I recently started again in 2017.

- I exported the csv to my google drive.

- I manually edited csv on my computer and uploaded into Google drive (format matches perfectly)

- I goto fuelio app on android and try to import.

- It does not show the files from google drive.

- If I export a file and it appears on google drive with new timestamp.

- And if I try import, the new file just exported from fuelio is only available to import.

- My changed csv file is not available for import.

Please help. Thanks.

Open this file in Libre Office. Drive is changing CSV format.  Just mail me your file if you want.

I opened the file in a text-editor and saved it as csv. I will try libre office. if it doesn't work out I will send you by email.

Is this email fuelio@sygic.com the right one?

It seems that every import creates a new car (with the same name). Is there also to possibility to "merge" data (so I don't have to export the data first) with an existing car? I have to import historical data.

Manual backup/import yes. But sync option is saving data in one file.

To merge data, you can simply use file editor (like Notepad, Notepad++). Just copy lines to one csv, import this file.

To sync data - use autobackup option. And while restoring use restore (download all option).
