Trip log does not end automatically

Trip log starts up without any issues. The problem hits when I disconnect from the car Bluetooth; it refuses to end automatically. I usually spot a notification later that shows the trip still running, along with a message on that notification saying "waiting on GPS". This started a few months ago. Before that, everything worked perfectly.
