Fuel consumption indicators interoperability

Hi

I live in the United Kingdom and we use miles for distances (roughly 1.6km) and litres for buying petrol. The most popular fuel consumption indicators is either MPG (miles per gallon) or l/100km. The main problem with all fuel calculators on Android (including yours) is that they cannot calculate any efficiency indicator using both miles and litres - they even do not exist as such. There is either metric system with litres and km or imperial system with miles and gallons. Can your app internally recalculate them? In this instance the app would have to recalculate internally: from miles to km to get l/100km or from litres to gallons to get MPG. Can it be done? Thank you

Can you give me one example. What's is missing and where?
As I know many users in UK are using the app. You can easily use miles, gallon (UK) and for consumption see km/L.


After switching values in settings values are recalculated to the units you want.


Maybe this part of app is working but you are thinking about something what is important in the log, stats - just to show it?

My car setup is as follows:

1) distance unit - miles

2) fuel unit - litres

3) consumption - l/100km

4) fuel type - petrol

When I open STATS from the menu, in AVERAGE STATISTICS all three fuel consumption values are zero....

I do not use my car a lot. On average I fill-up once every two months. Is this an issue?

Where might be the problem of missing consumption calculations?

This scenario is possible. You see zero values because you need at least two full fillups to see consumption and few other stats values.

In my mileage log I enter all values - the first five variables are always included.

I had only one full fillup so far - normally I simply top-up when I am near a petrol station without waiting until the last moment.

I am a bit surprised by this condition. Theoretically you can calculate consumption after any fillup based on the last distance and the amount of petrol bought.

Is it possible you can remove this limitation? Mathematically there is no need for it....

If not, do I have to wait until the next full fillup to get some results? Or maybe should I cheat a bit and always mark each fillup as "full tank"?

It's not a good way. Be careful with that. Mathematically of course there is a need for full fillup. Full fillup is control point.

Between full fillups you can calculate consumption with high accuracy.


Between two full fillups - you know how many litres you have used. With partial - not possible (of course it's possible if you car can show you amount of fuel left in the tank)

Every time I fillup I do it to the "full" capacity of the tank but hardly ever it is when the level of fuel drops below the reserve - I simply fillup every time to the full.

I always note mileage at each fillup.

I understand the importance of control points.

I think the problem is I wrongly understood the meaning of "full tank".......

It is simply filling up to the full regardless of the remaining fuel in the tank.

In my case I believe every fillup can be marked "full tank" because I always fill up until full.

Am I correct?

Yes. Full tank - no need to have empty tank. Just check full when the tank is filled to the top.

Hi there is a problem with the need of filling - up so to get detailed statistics about fuell consuption.
I own a bi-fuell car (lpg/petrol). The problem is that the fill-up of the lpg tank is relative situation :) . Theoritically it must filled up to 80% of the nominal capacity. But sometimes you can fill no more of 70% and sometimes (depending the fuell pump pressure and the remaing pressure at the lpg tank) you may fill-up beyond 80%.

And this screws-up the statistics. Another problem is at many cases I have  to use petrol when i run out of lpg, for some distance. How can exclude that distance from the calculation of lpg consumption?
