But I'm not able to get it onto my phone. I cannot find the location on my Android (v14) where the files are supposed to be stored. I can create a couple of records on the app and backup to Google Drive. Then use the sample CSV from Fuelio and put the data in where it is supposed to be but I cannot get it to come back to the phone where I should be able to see the new CSV I created. If I try to import from Google Drive it throws an error complaining about the path but it doesn't give the full path in the error, so that doesn't help.

Argh...
SBMongooshttps://fuelio.userecho.com/users/621-sbmongoos/topics/tag:fuelio.userecho.com,2024-02-06:/communities/1/topics/514-i-accidently-recorded-a-work-trip-under-wifes-car-how-can-i-change-the-vehicle/2024-02-06T02:37:29+00:002024-02-06T02:37:29+00:00I accidently recorded a work trip under wife's car how can I change the vehicle? [questions] [under review]
Hi,

I have been using your app for the last couple of months and I like it. However, I have a query that has been bothering me since the first full fillup - as to how Fuelio calculates mileage? Fuelio doesn't know the fuel capacity of my car and my fuel fillups vary in the amount of petrol I put in. For instance, I can go to a full fillup from a quarter tank, half tank, or three quarters of a full tank. I never wait for the fuel meter to read empty.

This may seem like a dumb question but your opinion in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Anup KB replied:

Several times I will fill up partial but milage will not calculate, Please advise. [ideas]
First of all, this app is great! I love it and it is very useful to keep track of car expenses across multiple vehicles. I am genuinely surprised it is a free app and not a $10 one off buy or similar.

My suggestion is I would like the option for fuel economy to be calculated off of GPS distance from the automatic Trip Logs. I would also like the option for fuel economy to be applied backwards to between the last time the tank was filled and now.

My car is a 4wd with over-sized tires. I know from experience that when my speedometer in the car reads 100km/hr, I am actually traveling at 107km/hr based off of GPS speed. Going by this then, if I fill my 60lt tank after 450km based on the car odometer reading, the fuel economy looks like 60/4.5 = 13.3 litres per 100km. But if I calculate economy off of GPS distance it is actually 60lt per 481.5km 60/4.815 = 12.46 litres per 100km.

Odometer Distance 13.3 litres / 100km vs GPS Distance 12.46 litres / 100km.

That is almost a 1 litre per 100km improved economy and is actually more accurate.

This isn't so much a big deal when city driving, but when out on 4wd tracks, I am often gone out for 2 or 3 days at a time. On tough trips I drive in low range so the fuel usage is a lot more. And my my tires are slipping in mud, or sand or on other loose surfaces which in this case, the odometer reading may show I have travelled a lot further than the GPS distance.

In this case, having the GPS distance calculate fuel economy is also much more accurate. It would also be more beneficial when I fill up next to be able to apply the GPS calculated fuel economy to all the trips I made between the last full tank and now when I fill up.

I know these are very specific details and requests compared to what most users are suggesting but if it could happen this would be amazing.

Thanks.

suggested by: TomGTomGhttps://fuelio.userecho.com/users/593-tomg/topics/tag:fuelio.userecho.com,2022-07-31:/communities/1/topics/497-what-is-error-20-i-cannot-see-my-cost-log/2022-07-31T11:47:11+00:002022-07-31T11:47:11+00:00What is error #20. I have sent him the Drive link (and given him access to the "...backup-csv dir) and he has placed (copied) the file on his Drive in the appropriate directories, but receives and error when (from within Fuelio on his phone) he tries to "Import" the file. He can _export_ a test car from his Fuelio (with only a couple lines of mileage data) and that test file appears in his Drive directory alongside the "car..." file with the real data. But he cannot import the real file.

We have tried various renaming tricks, copying tricks, anything we could think of, with no success. This seems really basic stuff and it's very disappointing to run into this blank wall after using Fuelio for years and recommending it frequently.

I hope somebody can suggest a kludge that actually works, but I would _really_ like to see the "Import" just work like it should when pointed at a properly formatted file - located anywhere - but most especially located in the dir where Fuelio has just exported (and imported back) another file properly. Especially when Fuelio itself has produced the target file. And it seems like total no-brainer to be able to import local files from storage anywhere on the device itself.

Thanks for any help.

Rufus

suggested by: rlaggrenrlaggrenhttps://fuelio.userecho.com/users/461-rlaggren/topics/tag:fuelio.userecho.com,2022-04-27:/communities/1/topics/225-currency-changings/2022-04-27T12:21:54+00:002022-04-27T12:21:54+00:00Currency-Changings [ideas] [completed]
Would be great, if you could change the Currency convertion while adding a fuel, so you don't need to go into the options to change the currency convertion, because it changes all the time anyway.
